Meet Those Who Help Us Step in the Right Direction
Clarissa is our Strong Start Program Coordinator. Born and raised on the Westside of Columbus, she is a proud graduate of Columbus City Schools, where she also worked as an educator. Clarissa joined SRD with a passion for educating and empowering her community.
Her journey with SRD began by volunteering at occasional events. When she found herself with more time to dedicate, she embraced the opportunity to take on a permanent role and continue making a positive impact in her community.

Strong Start Program Coordinator
Rebecca is a Community Health Worker here in Columbus, and got started as a volunteer at A Step In The Right Direction after referring a number of her clients to our services. Rebecca is bilingual, making her especially suited to help the Spanish-speaking population here in Columbus.
She even spearheaded our Spanish Language Baby Shower in July, as well as offering her translation services here at A Step in the Right Direction.

Moriah was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and has been settled in Columbus, Ohio, since September 2011. She holds a bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has more than 10 years of experience in trauma-Informed advocacy in sexual violence services.
She is a wife and mom to her daughter and 3 bonus young adults. She is passionate about healing in community and loves to be a part of moments that uplift and meet the critical needs of others. She decided to join SRD in June 2026 as one of the educators and support group facilitators because she believes that healing and growth take place in safe spaces with genuine support and resources.
